Sabal Trust Principals Assume New Responsibilities with Growing Business

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (October, 2013) – Sabal Trust, the largest employee-owned trust and investment management company in Florida, announces it has formally established the position of Chief Technology Officer. The responsibilities have been assumed by Sabal Trust principal Lucas DeVicente. In addition, Gerry Lachnicht has become team leader for the company’s office in The Villages.

“As Sabal Trust continues to grow, it is increasingly important that we dedicate resources to these important functions of the business, and I’m confident this appointment will serve to strengthen our company,” said Ward Curtis, Chairman and CEO of Sabal Trust.

As Chief Technology Officer, Lucas DeVicente is leading the implementation of network operations, data and IT security, and website infrastructure. He is responsible for technology standards and integration, serving as liaison with the company’s IT vendors.

As team leader for The Villages office, Gerry Lachnicht, CFA is responsible for its daily management and for developing the business plans required to achieve long-term sustainability of the team’s approach to client engagement. Lachnicht joined Sabal Trust in 2011 and offers 23 years of industry-related experience.
